Release Type
Stable – Feature & Fix Release
Summary
2026.09.2 is a broad feature-and-fix release. Buildings gain a Departments layer you can assign devices to, filter incidents and tickets by, and route work through. Every automation in your district, Smart Rules and Workflows alike, now lives on one Automations page with a guided builder. There is broader MDM reach with SCCM remote device actions and an out-of-date-agent alert, multiple SAML identity providers per district, individually serialized accessories, custom report columns, a customizable user profile, the ability to assign a technician right when you open a ticket, and tighter control over who sees a family's billing and guardian details.
Marquee features:
- Building Departments: track departments under each building, assign devices to them, and filter and route by department
- One place for every automation: Smart Rules and Workflows together on a single Automations page, with a guided New Automation picker
- SCCM remote device actions: lock, restart, force an inventory, or wipe a managed device from its ticket
- Multiple SAML identity providers: configure more than one SSO provider per district, each with its own sign-in button
- Serialized Accessories: track individual accessories by a unique serial and look up who holds any one
- Assign a technician at ticket creation: pick the responsible technician right on the New Ticket form
- Custom report columns: show or hide columns on any report table
- Hide billing and guardian details by role: keep a family's financial and guardian information out of restricted roles
New Features
One place for every automation
Manage1to1 has two kinds of automation: Smart Rules (for devices and incidents) and Workflows (for help desk tickets). They used to live on separate pages, so there was no single answer to "what do we have automated?" Now they share one Automations page that lists every rule and workflow together, each with its status, what triggers it, when it last ran, and how many times. Turn any of them on or off right from the list, or open one to edit it. The page that reports on automation runs was renamed from Automation Status to Automation Health to match.
Starting a new one is guided now too. Select New Automation and pick what it should act on: Device, Incident, Ticket, or Schedule. Each choice shows how many conditions and actions are available for that type before you commit, and opens the right builder already set to that object, so you no longer have to know in advance whether the thing you want is a Smart Rule or a Workflow.

Track departments under your buildings
Districts can now track a layer of departments (Science, IT, Admin, and the like) beneath each building, separate from help-desk ticket categories. Manage them on the new Buildings → Departments tab, where each department can have a lead. Assign a device to a department on the device form or when you import devices by CSV, and a Department column and filter appear on both the device list and the incident queue. You can also optionally auto-route a new incident to the lead of the device's department, so an issue lands with the right team automatically. Departments are available through the public API as well.

Send remote actions to SCCM devices
For districts running the SCCM integration, you can now send remote actions to a managed Windows device (lock, restart, force an inventory, or wipe) right from its ticket. Because the SCCM agent reaches out to Manage1to1 on a schedule rather than the other way around, each action is queued and carried out at the agent's next check-in, and the panel shows the agent's last contact time so the timing is clear. Wipe is gated behind its own permission and a per-district toggle. The SCCM settings page now also warns you when the installed agent is out of date, so you know to re-download and redeploy it.

Sign in with more than one identity provider
Administrator SAML sign-in now supports more than one identity provider per district, for example one for staff and one for contractors. Each configured provider gets its own metadata, signing certificate, and its own "Sign in with…" button on the login page. Existing single-provider setups keep working unchanged and fold into the new list on the first save.

Track accessories by serial
Accessories are normally counted by quantity, which is all you need for a pile of identical chargers. For the ones worth tracking individually, you can now turn on serial tracking per accessory and manage each physical unit by its own serial.
Switch on Track by serial for an accessory and a Units tab appears where you stock serials into a location and retire ones that are damaged or gone. Issuing a serialized accessory from a user profile then asks you to pick the exact unit you are handing out, so the record shows which serial went to which person. A new Find a unit search answers "where is CHG-2026-001234 right now?" with the unit's status and either its current holder or its stock location. Returns, losses, and recoveries all follow the exact unit, and your on-hand counts stay in step automatically. Serialized accessories are issued individually rather than through the automatic checkout bundle, so a specific unit is always chosen.

Assign a technician when you open a ticket
When you create a ticket on behalf of someone, you can now assign it to a specific technician right on the New Ticket form, instead of creating it unassigned and reassigning it afterward. Pick a technician from the new Assign Technician dropdown and the ticket lands in their queue immediately; leave it on Unassigned to use your department's normal routing. The technician you choose is notified, and your choice takes precedence over any automatic routing the department would otherwise apply. Out-of-office technicians are marked but can still be chosen.

Automatically mark missing staff inactive
Manage1to1 could already mark students inactive once they stop appearing in your roster sync. That now works for staff as well. When it is on, a staff member who is no longer in your roster is automatically set inactive, so departed employees do not linger as active accounts.
It is off by default, and you can scope it. Leave it unrestricted to cover all staff, or limit it to specific staff roles from your roster (for example, only teachers) so groups you manage a different way are left alone. Staff added by CSV or by hand, and shared or service accounts, are never touched by the automatic sweep, so only people your roster actually confirms as gone are affected.

Quick-log check-ins for later review
Rapid Check-in gains an optional quick log. When it is turned on, whoever is scanning can capture a device's condition and a short note in a couple of seconds and drop it into a review queue instead of stopping the line to open an incident. A separate, permission-gated screen works the queue later, promoting entries to incidents where warranted, so a busy collection day keeps moving.

Customize the user profile layout
Districts can now tailor the user profile to show only the cards and tabs they use. A new Profile Layout setting lists the optional summary cards (ID photo, repeat-offender badge, flag snapshot, and more) and tabs (incident history, insurance, checkout history, tickets, notes, and others). Everything is on by default, and hiding one never overrides an existing permission or module gate; core identity and the User Information tab always stay.

Choose your report columns
Every report table now has a Columns button, matching the one on View Users, so you can show or hide individual columns and focus a report on exactly what you need.

Hide billing and guardian details by role
Districts that run student-staffed help desks, or otherwise need to limit who sees a family's information, can now hide financial and guardian data from specific administrator roles. Two new role permissions control it: View Billing shows or hides the Insurance, Annual Fees, Repair Credits, and Billing History tabs along with the outstanding-balance banner on a user's profile, and View Guardians shows or hides the Guardians section and its contact details.
Both are on by default for your existing roles, so nothing changes until you decide to restrict a role. To hide the information, edit the role and uncheck the permission; the tabs and sections disappear immediately for everyone assigned to it. This makes a Student Worker role a clean fit for data-compliance requirements.

Size your printed labels to your stock
On-demand label printing now has a Label Settings screen, so you can set the width and height of both the student label and the asset-tag label to match the label stock you actually print on. Set the dimensions in inches for each label (a live preview shows the shape as you type) and your labels fill your stock edge to edge with no wasted space or clipping. Leave a value blank and the standard size is used, so printing always works.

Improvements
- Schoology export by grade and building. When you generate the Schoology export, you can now choose the buildings and grades to include, so districts that only sync a few grade levels or a single school can export just those instead of exporting everyone and filtering the file afterward.
- Incident photos on every invoice PDF, with a toggle. Incident damage photos appear on the invoice PDF everywhere it is produced (the emailed copy, the copy an administrator downloads, and the bulk PDF batch), so the photos that explain a charge travel with the invoice no matter how it is generated. A new Include Incident Photos on Invoice PDFs switch in Invoice Settings lets a district turn this off (it is on by default).
- Delete a mistaken insurance enrollment. When insurance is added to a user by mistake, you can now remove it entirely from the user's Insurance tab, but only when it was never used (no claim filed, no premium paid), so real history is never erased. Once an enrollment has been used, edit it instead.
- Faster billing and invoice pages. Under-the-hood database tuning speeds up loading invoices, payments, and related billing screens on large districts.
- Check out a device without leaving the profile. Starting a device checkout from a user's profile now opens in place on the same page instead of navigating away, so the confirmation and the refreshed profile stay in one flow.
- Save settings without a full-page reload. Several settings pages (Invoice, Licensing, Warehouse, and the MDM loaner-lock options) now save in place instead of reloading the whole page.
- Filter the ticket list by technician. The Support → View Tickets list can be filtered and sorted by assigned technician, and that filtering stays fast at high-volume districts.
- Faster Support Dashboard. The Support Dashboard loads much faster on busy help desks.
- Homeroom on the student profile. Manage1to1 now recognizes homerooms named in the class title even when your SIS never marks a class as a homeroom, and it shows the homeroom's room on the student profile.
- Honor SIS withdrawals from OneRoster. Students and staff your SIS marks for deletion are no longer kept as active accounts.
- Incremental API sync. Every API list endpoint now accepts a
modifiedSincefilter, so an integration can pull only the records that changed since its last run. - Clearer checkbox alert conditions. Checkbox custom-field conditions on check-out/check-in alerts now read "is checked / is unchecked" instead of "is empty / is not empty."
Bug Fixes
- Incident building restored (MAN-1731). At districts that track building on the person rather than the device, new incidents were losing their building. Incidents are filed under a building again, and a new Incident Building Source setting lets you choose whether that building comes from the device or the lease holder.
- User Portal tickets for other people (MAN-1732). Filing a portal ticket on behalf of someone now finds them by the email your district signs in with, and the device assigned to their account shows up in the picker.
- Invoice Settings save (MAN-1706). The Invoice Settings page no longer errors when you save it.
- Ticket notification emails (MAN-1721). Change-notification emails for tickets and workflows now send reliably, with the building and school details filled in.
- Work-order PDFs (MAN-1525). Generating a work-order PDF no longer errors when a related record is missing.
- OneRoster staff without a local ID (MAN-1726). Staff whose provider leaves the local ID empty are now imported using their sourced ID instead of being skipped.
- Google directory write-back (MAN-1720). After a bulk checkout, the Google "User" field now updates reliably, and internal paths are no longer written to the activity log.
